Joe DiVito

Personal:  I was born in Steamboat Springs in 1974 and have lived in Colorado all my life.

Education:  I have a B.S. in Construction Management from Colorado State University.

Career:  Once I transferred to CSU, I interned for a local production home builder.  I worked for him for approximately three years and learned a lot about the production home building process.  Prior to graduation, I interviewed with Turner Construction Company and I was offered and accepted a position as project engineer.  After four months, I was promoted to Assistant Project Superintendent where I enjoyed working on the commercial side of the business.  Six months later, I was promoted to superintendent and ran remodel projects for Wells Fargo and AT&T in Denver.

After 14 months of working on tenant finish jobs, commercial office space in high rise buildings, I was transferred to a 40,000 sq.ft. addition/renovation of Hill Hall at the Colorado School of Mines where I served as Assistant Superintendent of the project.

After eight months, I was transferred into the office and was given the title of Cost Engineer.  This is where I received experience on the financial side of the commercial construction business working on major projects, including 16 Market Square, a $30 Million project in downtown Denver.  I reported directly to the regional financial manager, the company, VP, and the Denver Region General Manager.

After approximately four months in that position, I knew my “heart” was not in the commercial side of the industry.  Thus, in April 2000, I filed the necessary paperwork to start DiVito Construction LLC and landed my first job, a large basement finish.  Since leaving the commercial construction side of the business, I can officially say, “I have never looked back!”.  Since its inception in 2000, DiVito Construction has completed appoximately 480 Projects totaling more than 5.8 Million.

I am currently licensed and work in the following municipalities/counties:  Boulder County, City of Arvada, City of Golden, Jefferson County, City and County of Broomfield, City of Westminster, and many others.
